Emerald Eyes was written in the 1990s by The Innocent Bystanders original saxophone player Eric Lane for the Albert Alley Blues Band, which performed in Washington, DC. By the time the EP was recorded, Lane had left San Diego for Rey, New York. LaFave stuck close to the original saxophone parts in this song, which is probably most similar to its original version of the four on the album.
