Badman Rendezvous was written in July 2008 as part of a songwriting blitz by the British artist, Kevin Gray, for his recording session at Medici Studios in Australia in September 2008. The song is a dark lovesong recounting the last thoughts of a killer heading to his execution, the manner of which is hinted at by the allusion to him having his hair cut. Each verse tells the story of the crime and the reasons for committing it: to rid himself of his love rival.
