The power ballad was released in September 1994 by Mercury Records as a single from the band’s first official greatest hits album, "Cross Road" (1994). The song became one of the band’s best-selling singles, selling one million copies in the United States and more than three million copies worldwide. It reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100, marking the band’s eleventh and final top-ten single on that chart.
