We Knew When She Landed is a five piece Sydney based band. Formed in early 2009, the band spent most of the year perfecting their sound. The result is a bitter-sweet relationship between punk and pop, confrontation and calm, push and pull, the eastern suburbs and the inner west. But the struggle is controlled because, after all, it is just rock. Their influences, like many, were of a wide spectrum. From images of a hot dry Australian summer with Midnight Oil or Hunter and Collectors playing in the background at the local, to the heavy winter grind of bands such as Isis or Envy filling up the room of an abandoned warehouse. And then somewhere in between, a walk to no particular destination, the unescapable story telling of Built To Spill. Through friendship and patience We Knew When She Landed explored their sound and grew with confidence. At the end of 2009 a demo consisting of three songs was conceived, a reward to themselves but also to begin the process of getting their music out there and hopefully noticed. 2010 will be about continuing that path of growth and recognition with great emphasis on performing live. We Knew When She Landed are Luke Adam (vocals/guitar), Tim Cameron (bass/vocals), Jessica Kesting (trumpet/keys), Anthony Sharpe (guitar/vocals) and Steve Sharpe (drums/ percussion).
