Voice of Joy is a gospel choir of young singers from Haugesund and the suburbs. Sangerne have different backgrounds and experience but a common passion in the gospel song. The message is central for the Voice of Joy, and is fundamental to the choir are doing. Voice of Joy was started in 1995 as a result of Karmøy Gospelfestival. The festival is a mustering of young chorus-singers who get together every year on Karmøy. Petter Losnegård started the Voice of Joy as a project-choir that researched a few times a year. This has now developed into a chorus with weekly practices, about 40 - 50 performances each year, three recordings and tours, both domestically and abroad. For the last 5 years, the Voice of Joy toured annually in the United States with the participation of Music & Worship Conference in Christ Church, Nashville, as a central part of the program. In addition to this, the choir had concerts throughout Ireland and in England and Ireland. Voice of Joy has produced 3 CD recordings in 2003, 2005 and 2007. The latest is a live recording made in the Brentwood Baptist Chruch in Nashville and produced by the famous American producer David Hamilton. Recording is made with American musicians and with guests as Patrick Henderson and Kirk Whalum (sax) among others. The group is a work in progress and will have new challenges and exciting mission.
