LA ETRURIA CRIMINALE BANDA (Italy) Popular traditions and new contaminations (excerpt from http://www.shantismusic.com/) Flute, sax, trumpets, tuba, drums, percussion, guitars and voices, 15 musicians directed by Giovanni Di Cosimo, coming from different experiences of jazz and popular music that dialog with heterogeneous styles: circensian music, tangos, tarantellas, reggae-ska and swing blended in a warm and energetic sonorous mixture. During their live concerts you can breath a funny and ironic atmosphere, and listen to an original and unusual interpretation of the Italian band tradition. It’s a project conceived by some Etrurians, that riding the echo of popular music they project themselves in a modern and postmodern performance with a criminal sonorous attitude. Criminal is referred to a subversive way of living the Italian music traditions: a post-popular way that opens to the most advanced experimentations. A concert to watch, listen and dance at the same time!
