dkWells started playing piano at the age of 5 and wrote his first song while watching President John F.Kennedy's funeral on a small black and white TV. He later took up the recorder, trombone, bass, electric and acoustic guitar. Guitar became his instrument of choice when composing songs. dkWells began playing professionally at the age of 16 and majored in music at Murray State University, dkWells later changed his major to communications, where he began a successful career in advertising, marketing, promotion, production and public relations. dkWells has written over 150 songs, and released his first album titled, "Open Heart - Open Mind", which blends a musical landscape inspired by his experience in surviving open-heart surgery and his ongoing spiritual, mental and physical journey through life. Open Heart - Open Mind, the first album by dkWells, is now available for download at iTunes or direct from our Store on the web site. CD's are also available for sell on CDBaby, Amazon, and various other retail outlets. Tracks where recorded at Swinging Way Studios in Evansville and Produced by dkWells and Jeff Ennis. Jeff Ennis was the Mixing Engineer, and Mastering was engineered by Mark Omann at Universal Studio's in New York. dkWells is currently playing music live in select venues, and is working on material for his next album to be released later this summer.
