Artist
cassette for cassette were an Oxford, UK based four-piece playing angular, brooding post-riot grrl infused music. Formed in late 2004 by Emma Short (vocals, guitar) and Richard Lanyon (guitar) of the recently-split moonkat, their line-up was rounded out by Steven Endersby (bass) and Stacey Owen (drums, then in the band Harlette). They split in 2005. During their brief existence they played a handful of shows with the likes of this aint vegas and help she can't swim and had their track the loneliness of the long distance runner featured on the truck festival compilation, and look at you, looking at me, looking at kathleen hanna on an oxfordbands.com collection. They were variously compared to the au pairs, electrelane, angelica, young marble giants and sonic youth. Drowned in Sound described them as "dark and brooding, and most of all, intriguing", and Nightshift called them "the true spirit of indie-pop".
