Zahid Quliyev is a mugam singer from Azerbaijan. Besides performing solo, he is a member of Trio Jabbâr Garyaghdu Oghlu (a.k.a. Mugam Ensemble of Jabbar Karyagdy). Zahid Guliyev was born in 1961 in Djabrayil. He is one of the continuers of the mugham traditions of Karabakh. His father was a well-known ashiq in Karabakh. Zahid Guliyev graduated at the Azerbaijan State Music School of Baku in 1986. He attended classes of the great mugham masters Sahib Shukurov, Narmian Aliyev and Hajibaba Huseynov. The same year he was awarded second place in a contest in honour of Cabbar Qaryağdıoğlu and the Trio Jabbâr Garyaghdu Oghlu was created.
