Artist
Denzel Campbell a.k.a. Young D.C. is a rapper/producer born in the Bronx but raised in Uniondale. From the age of 11 dc’s been writing songs but couldn’t record anything for the longest. Two years later he began recording at a youth center (Energetic Enterprise). Through that program he learned how to engineer, produce, and arrange songs. In his spare time Young D.C. still writes songs for both himself and even singers now. Young D.C. has done a lot of shows in his community and is overall a very good multitalented artist. He says his influences consist of Nas, Kanye West, and Polo Da Don. While the music of Young D.C. is primarily hip-hop, occasionally you will hear a mix of a pop or rock style in the music. In his words dc doesn’t want to be like the other new rappers who make a dance song and then get forgotten in the next couple months. Young D.C., while wanting to get as much recognition as those artist, still focuses on delivering rhymes that make people think and making beats that make people move. Since he started recording songs dc developed a love for the music, when you listen to his music you’ll get to see what kind of person he really is.
