You Make Engine began in 2005 with Hannah and Kaleb toying around in a hot East Austin storage unit, attempting to turn Kaleb’s obsession with Out Hud and Poster Children into some original music we could dance to. We knew Brian as a great singer with excellent musical taste from our Karaoke Underground shows, and asked him to join. Jaime has been in Austin bands for years, most recently in Commune Y Que? with Kaleb, and he made us kick ourselves for sticking with the drum machine so long. Everyone Dances Or Nobody Dances is our debut album. It rocks, it tells stories and you can indeed dance to it. “Flag” is a Poster Children song and “Jaipur” is by The Mountain Goats.
