Artist
Xurxo Romaní has always been fascinated by the sound of a medieval instrument, the hurdy gurdy or Galician "zanfona". He started playing it in 1997, and he has collaborated with several musical groups in Catalunya and Galicia, on the ground of early music and folk music. Mandranugalla is a solo recording where he plays a range of folk instruments accompanying the hurdy-gurdy. Its main sources are medieval music and traditional music from Galicia. In "O diaño e a mona" he merges into jazz, funk and electronic music, with a touch of progressive rock.
