Woodpecker Wooliams was a musical project of British musician Gemma Williams based in Brighton. She produced music as Woodpecker Wooliams from 2009 to 2013, releasing the studio albums Diving Down (2009) and The Bird School of Being Human (2012). The final Woodpecker Wooliams performance was at the End of The Road festival in 2013. The following few years saw Woodpecker touring all over Europe, The Baltics and Russia, and playing festivals such as The Big Chill, Positivus, and The Alternative Escape as well as releasing a string of cassette and EP releases around the world. Her offering, 'The Bird School of Being Human', released via Robot Elephant Records in September 2012 caught the attention of critics and led to her being named as The Guardian's 'New Band of The Day', as one of The Independent's 'Ones To Watch'.
