Wei Zhongyue (卫仲乐, 衛仲樂, 1909-1997) was a famous Chinese instrumentalist, regarded as one of the finest players of the Pipa (lute) and the Guqin (zither). But who was well-trained in playing Erhu (two-stringed fiddle) and various flutes too. Since his childhood he had contact with Chinese folk instruments, being highly influenced by his family musical tradition. He learned to play by taking lessons of Zheng Jingwen, Liu Yaozhang and Wang Yuting. Later he became a teacher of Chinese folk music himself.
