Weekend Revolutionaries is the Euro house project of an anonymous solo artist/producer from Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia. The musical influences of the project include Aphex Twin, Delorean, M83, Lone, Washed Out and Cut Copy. Weekend Revolutionaries is currently signed to Amdiscs, a Prague/London based independent record label, through which 4th studio album Movement was released on August 25, 2011. The first Weekend Revolutionaries recordings were made in February 2006, with the project taking on the actual Weekend Revolutionaries name in April 2008. Weekend Revolutionaries has declined to play live concerts on a number of occasions, preferring instead to be an entirely studio-based project. The first official record, Coastal Mentality, was released in December 2009. It was then reissued in 2010 in remastered form, and also saw an extremely limited physical release through Big Cartel. The following day after the reissue was announced, the release information for the album’s two singles, ‘Haze‘ and ‘Lucid Experience‘, was revealed. 'Lucid Experience' ultimately rose to number 21 on the Triple J Unearthed charts in 2009. Coastal Mentality was the first of Weekend Revolutionaries’ official records, and the first part of a trilogy of instrumental concept albums. Each record had an accompanying ideology or philosophical direction which it sought to convey through instrumentation only.
