Walentyn Gawara Gutek was a Polish representative of Renaissance music. Little is known about Gawara's life. He was cantor at the school of the Krakow Marienkirche around 1560 or 1570. His only preserved compositions are the motet Per merita Sancti Adalberti, of which several recordings exist, including with the radio choir of Radio Wroclaw and fragments of a Rorate Coeli.
