Members: ** Vocals & Guitar: サイトウタクヤ (Takuya Saitou; born June 23, 1994; Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture) ** Bass: Ken Mackay (Born August 11, 1994 in Wellington, New Zealand; Ashiya, Hyogo Prefecture) ** Drums: 中島元良 (Motoyoshi Nakajima; born December 23, 1985; Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture; ex BAND A, ex Holidays of seventeen; joined August 31st 2018) Ex members: ** Drums: 窪田智一 (Tomokazu "Tom" Kubota; Joined on January 22, 2011. Left on January 11, 2015. Played drums. ** Drums: オザキリョウ (Ryou Ozaki; served as a support member from January 11, 2015, and officially joined on August 11, 2015. Left on July 10, 2018. After leaving, he played drums in ザ・モアイズユー (The Moai's You), but left on July 14, 2023) Biography: w.o.d. formed on August 29, 2009, when junior high school classmates Takuya Saito and Ken Mackay started a band together. The name is an abbreviation of “webbing off duckling,” meaning “a duck that can’t swim.” It came from looking up cool sounding English words and forcing them into a meaning that somehow worked. They played their first live show on May 13, 2010, at Kobe Mersey Beat. Over the next few years they built their reputation in the live circuit, and in 2015 they placed in RO69JACK 2015, an amateur artist contest hosted by Rockin’ On.
