about

Songwriters Jennifer Saez and Corbin Supak have played music together since meeting in 1996 in Austin, Texas and forming the band Vidi Vitties. Jennifer was raised all over the world by Spanish-speaking parents, spending time in New Orleans, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland and Washington DC. She was studying the blues with Joe Valentine in Austin when she met Corbin, a fourth generation Austinite, and son of a school band director. He takes musical influence from the full range of Texans, being descended from Czech tuba players, Mexican balladeers and immersed in traditions of psych, punk and swing. Now married and living in Portland, Oregon since 2002, The Vulturines are their second major band. “Fowl Language” is the debut album. More at www.gypsybasilica.com The Vulturines began in 2004 as a three-piece with fellow ex-Austinite Theo Spanos on drums. Later, Sam Liberto joined on bass and this foursome recorded "Fowl Language" in Corbin and Jennifer's basement. Aaron Hayman replaced Spanos on drums shortly after, and continues with the band. After a hiatus of six months while Jennifer and Corbin had a daughter, Liberto left the band and newly relocated Austin friends Amy Bowman and Jon Brandt joined, playing multiple instruments. The now five-piece group has begun to perform regularly again. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
