Vanessa Chinitor, born in Dendermonde on 13 October 1976, is a Flemish singer. She is most known for her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1999. She was the Belgian entry of the Contest in Jerusalem with the song 'Like The Wind'. She ended in 12th place with 38 points, which was the best result a Flemish singer had obtained in 25 years. In 2006 she entered the Flemish selections for Eurovision once again with the song Beyond You, but ended last in the first selection round. On the 10 September 2006 Vanessa Chinitor performed at a party of ‘Vlaams Belang’, a Flemish nationalistic political party, which caused a lot of controversy.
