This Belgian artist singing mostly in Flemish (but also in French, English, German and even Italian) was Born in Diest, Flanders, Belgium in 1948 as Liliane Keuninckx. Her voice, full of soul, was discovered by Milo De Coster who launched "Liliane" with the hit "We gotta stop". Liliane won Canzonissima, a song contest in Flanders, in 1968. This was were the French star Claude François first heard her. He gave her the French sounding last name "Saint-Pierre" and successfully launched her in France. After some ups and down, both in her singing career as on a relational level, Liliane Saint-Pierre relaunched her carrier in Flanders by means of the Eurovision Song Contest: After Sandra Kim had won for Belgium in 1986, Liliane Saint-Pierre sang "Soldiers of Love" in Brussels. Her 11th place is still the highest score for a Flemish contestant since 25 years... For over 30 years Liliane Saint-Pierre has regularly appeared in the Flemish top-10.
