FLOOTING GROOVES is PEARCE VAN DER MERWE, born in Cape Town, South Africa. He has been surrounded by music all his life. After having tried various intruments at a young age including violin, piano and french horn he finally settled on the silver flute, heavily influenced by an encounter with Jethro Tull and the green and meaningful. Jamming with Sean Strydom(acoustic guitar, electric bass) and his step brother Eliot Short (violinist, vocalist) the acoustic trio INFUSIONS was born. After the last few gigs in Cape Town he left again for Europe where he floated and flooted in places like London, Edinburgh and finally settling for a 2 year course in Music Composition and Technology at the APM school in North Italy. The next stop was Amsterdam and it is here that he came into contact with the Trance scene, after a mindblowing experience at a party in a church in Ruigoord. Amsterdam is definitely a meeting point and so it its not surprising that one comes across like minded people, in this case Dan Symons and Ajja Leu two musicians just getting into computers and production based in Lausanne, Switzerland. So with Moreno and Gaspard(who had in the meantime founded PEAK RECORDS with Tanya and Ajja) the PEAKING GODDESS COLLECTIVE was born. The Collective played at various parties in and out of Switzerland as an organic live-act playing from chill to downtempo to groove-based psytrance.
