about

Undiddley sprang forth like some ungodly miasma, the swampy offspring of a guitar played through a phaser and a cranky old bass amp. Eduardo Padilla was the midwife/technician/quack voodoo sorcerer, and right from the get go he got the hang of the skeletal percussive guitar figures that sounded like some ghostly congas dripping goo with hypnotic ambition in their eyes. After that, things took a turn for the worst as he proceeded to spit out: a goofy dada-surf-punk song; a drunken and sun-burst punk-blues improv; a sinister lurching tune equally inspired in old Greek myths, Pansonic and Ennio Morricone's score for the Thing; a spontaneous slide guitar composition recorded through a heavily distorted mic; and his favourite Undiddley experiment, Hyena, which to this day is hard to describe except as a cohesively amorphous blues-noise thing. Good friends of his assisted him through this infernal descent: Edgar Medina ( a.k.a. Alejandro Morse), Mónica DiFrancesco (The Cheap Poet) and Daniel Castrejón (ex-Togo Creeping Flesh). www.noise-joy.org/artists/undiddley.html User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
