Ugolino of Forlì or Ugolino of Orvieto (Italian: Ugolino da Orvieto or Urbevetano or Ugolino da Forlì) (Forlì, c. 1380 - Ferrara, c. 1457) was an Italian composer and musical theorist of the Renaissance.[1] Ugolino was born in Forlì, but was named Urbevetano (of Orvieto) because his father, Francesco, was from Orvieto. His Declaratio musicae disciplinae (five books) was written between 1430 and 1440, in Forlì. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
