Tsjuder is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 1993. The group was initially founded by bassist and vocalist Nag and guitarist Berserk, with second guitarist Draugluin joining the following year. After a period of rehearsals and songwriting, the band recorded their first demo tape, titled "Ved Ferdens Ende". Shortly after this release, Berserk left the band and was replaced by drummer Torvus. In 1996, the band released a second demo, "Possessed". In 1997, Tsjuder experienced further lineup changes. Torvus was dismissed and replaced by Desecrator on drums, while American guitarist Diabolus Mort also joined the band. This lineup recorded the "Throne of the Goat" EP, released by Solistitium Records in 1997. Both Diabolus Mort and Desecrator left the band the following year. Drummer Blod, from Gehenna, and guitarist Arak Draconiiz, from Isvind, then joined. The group recorded a promo titled "Atum Nocturnem", originally intended for rehearsal purposes, but it attracted the attention of several independent labels and was eventually released by At War Records in 1999. Later in 1999, Tsjuder signed a two-album deal with Drakkar Productions and recorded their debut full-length, "Kill for Satan". Due to time constraints and Blod's unavailability for an upcoming tour in 2000, Christian Svendsen, also known as Anti-Christian, joined as the drummer.
