Artist
Too Poetic was a hiphop group that was originally comprised by two(Too) DJ's - DJ Capitcal K aka Kaos and DJ Woody Wood and one MC(Poetic). Woody Wood left the group to help his wife raise their new born child. "that's minus one but there's still Too". Before Woody left they dropped the legendary classic single God Made Me Funky/Political Terror 12inch which had been brought to the late great, Paul 'C' McKasty for the final mix. They also released a music video for God Made Me Funky. The single was very well received. After Woody left, they recorded a full album by the end of '89. Tommy Boy said the now duo were not marketable like other hiphop acts on the label and told the group that they would shelf the album for a year before giving it another chance. Kaos and Poetic decided to get out of their contract thinking the album would probably be outdated by the time, if ever it's released. Tommy Boy released them from their contact. Poetic formed Gravediggaz with other artists that Tommy Boy had screwed over. Poetics attitude had changed which is certainly understandable considering the circumstances surrounding his first steps into the industry. The positivity that Poetic excelled at was put toward deeper and darker type of lyrics which he also excelled at but Too Poetic could be no more unfortunately. The unreleased album 'Droppin' Signals' was released free on the internet in 2009 but has since been asked to be taken down by Poetics family. User-contributed text is avai
