Tony Hazzard first surfaced in the late 60's as a hit songwriter for a number of well known sixties stalwarts . Born in Liverpool, Tony moved to London and signed with Gerry Bron's publishing company as a staff writer. After a few hit successes with Lulu (Me, The Peaceful Heart), Manfred Mann (Fox On The Run & Ha Ha Said The Clown), the Hollies (Listen To Me), and Herman's Hermits (You Won't Be Leaving), he released his first solo album of laidback, singer-songwriter styled soft-rock in 1969. This album pretty much sunk without a trace, but his next two: 'Loudwater House (1971) ' and 'Was That Alright Then' (1973) were far better received. During this time Tony had a good grounding in Elton John's extended musical family and this rubbed off on both his songwriting and greater prowess on these two LP's. After a long period out of the limelight and time spent both inside and outside the music industry, Bronze (Gerry Bron's company) compiled an anthology featuring Tony's 2nd and 3rd album together with some outtakes, introducing him to a whole new audience in 2005. Tony now lives in Cornwall and continues to be musically active. He promises new recordings, but we've yet to see anything yet as of mid 2008.
