Tom Seatton was born in 1961, to a French father and a Scottish-American mother, who made artistic expression (painting, sculpture, music, dance) a member of the family. For him, musical adventures began in 1978 on the dance floor, as a DJ, and where his musical field opened onto horizons well beyond the "Staying Alive" and "Ring My Bell" tunes of those times. As of 1981 everything simultaneously became more complicated and different, as at the end of schooling that equated to the Great Sleep, an awakening took place thanks to a musical instrument: the saxophone. As of that moment, his fate was sealed - the USA it would be! And being quite a character, setting himself apart from the mainstream, he ignored New York City and Los Angeles with flair and headed straight for Kansas, undoubtedly in answer to a secret call from the Wizard of Oz. He studied music therapy for four years as well as the sax (School of Music). He was then interned for six months at the Langley Psychiatric Institute in San Francisco... as a student, luckily. In 1987, France saw Tom Seatton return. Well, in fact, he was barely recognizable under his stack of diplomas: Music Therapy and Music Education from the University of Kansas, and a first prize for the saxophone. Whereas music therapy remained the motor in his musical approach, he nevertheless switched from its pratice to a deeper investment in music in its broader sense, going into sound production for advertizing.
