To the Rats and Wolves was a German electronicore band from Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, formed in 2012 and disbanded in 2020. The band was formed in 2012 from the final lineup of the disbanded deathcore band Beast War Returns and released its first EP, "Young.Used.Wasted", which was produced by Electric Callboy guitarist Daniel Haniß. The original lineup consisted of vocalists Dixi Wu and Nico Sallach, guitarists Danny Güldener and Marc Dobruk, bassist Stanislaw Czywil, and drummer Simon Yildirim. Prior to joining To the Rats and Wolves, Yildirim had played drums for We Set the Sun, a band signed to Redfield Records. In March 2014, the band toured Europe as an opening act for Her Bright Skies, Iwrestledabearonce, and Electric Callboy, followed by performances at festivals including Mair1 Festival, Bochum Total, and Olgas Rock. Later that year, it again toured Germany as a support act for Electric Callboy. In January 2015, To the Rats and Wolves was announced for the Summer Breeze Open Air festival in Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria, where it performed in August. In October 2015, the band served as the opening act for We Butter the Bread with Butter on the Wieder Geil Tour, which began in Dresden, Saxony, and concluded after 16 shows in Hamburg in December. During this period, in November 2015, the band signed with Arising Empire. In 2016, the band released two albums, "Neverland" in February and "Dethroned" in September.
