Artist
Tim Robbins (born West Covina, California, 16 October 1958) is known as a movie actor (Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption, Oliver Lang in Arlington Road, Dave Boyle in Mystic River) and producer/director (Dead Man Walking). Tim Robbins is a musician, too. He plays the guitar, has been writing songs for several decades, performs live every once in a while and has undertaken projects with musicians such as Pete Seeger and Eddie Vedder, but he did not release an album... yet. In September 2010, the début album by Tim Robbins and the Rogues Gallery Band, simply called Tim Robbins and the Rogues Gallery Band, will see the light of day. The album is preceded by a single, You're My Dare, which was released on limited edition 7-inch vinyl. The forthcoming album contains nine songs; the style can be described as 'dark americana rock'. The members of Robbins' Rogues Gallery Band are: Kate St. John, Leo Abrahams, David Coulter, Roger Eno, Rory McFarlane, Andrew Newmark and Dudley Phillips. The album was produced by Hal Willner.
