Thewhiskeyarchive is a Folk / Nuevo Folk / Indie Folk band formed in Brisbane, QLD, Australia in 2011. thewhiskeyarchive brings together the vocal, musical and songwriting talents of ukulele songstress Jane Cameron and singer/songwriter Mark Bentley. The result is a blend of smooth, smoky indie folk with a hint of alt-country and a nod to the punk/goth influences of Brisbane's music scene in the 70s and 80s. Since their first show in September 2011, thewhiskeyarchive has rapidly gathered a loyal following with a string of shows at some of Brisbane's best live venues, including The Zoo, Black Bear Lodge and Ric's Bar. Their songs are rich with imagery and stories of the deep places of the heart - the places that hurt and heal, that transform both the everyday and the extraordinary into moments that resonate with everyone. Laced through with sweet, haunting harmonies and an openness and warmth that continue to captivate audiences, thewhiskeyarchive's live performances are something to be savoured. thewhiskeyarchive released their debut EP in August 2012 at the Old Museum in Brisbane.
