The Whybirds are a four piece rock 'n' roll/alt.country band from Bedford, England. All four members (Dave Banks, Ben Haswell, Taff Thatcher and Luke Tuchscherer) are singer/songwriters – giving the group a diverse range of songs and vocal styles – but without straying from The Whybirds' sanguine brand of rock 'n' roll. Classic Rock journalist Derek Oliver said: "If you are at all interested in alt.country rock then you’ll love The Whybirds. They have it all; songs, musicianship and a sense of maturity that most acts of this kind can’t even comprehend. I’ve lost count of the amount of times that Q, Uncut or Word magazine has banged on about alt.country artists to hear music that sounds like its been recorded in a bathroom by clueless embryonic singer/songwriters.
