about

Deadstring Brothers was an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan, fronted by guitarist/vocalist Kurt Marschke. The band began in Autumn 2003 and toured steadily from the 2004 release of their eponymous debut, sharing the stage with acts ranging from Shooter Jennings, Cat Power and Jesse Sykes to Giant Sand, My Morning Jacket, Drive by Truckers and the Mekons. The band released the album Sao Paulo in 2010 with a line up of Marschke (lead vocals, guitar), and London's Cullum Brothers - Jeff Cullum (bass, vocals, harmonica) and Spencer Cullum (lead guitar, pedal steel, lap steel, slide, vocals), plus Jason Lucia (drums) and Paul Hatchett (keys, organ). The band released "Cannery Row" in 2013 and split in 2014. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
