about

The White Space was formed by Canadian and ex-The Lucy Show member Rob Vandeven and British ex-Fuzzy Logic member Dave Farrow in 2011. The debut album The Cresent Wave comprises 9 tracks ranging in mood from the brooding and orchestral title track The Cresent Wave to the more upbeat and guitar-led tracks Stay and Davey. Much of the album has a filmic/soundtrack quality to it with melancholic overtones. The album is generally dark and atmospheric but uplifting at times such as with the majestic sounding Hold and the more dreamy and ethereal Two Babies. Some songs lean towards electronica such as the title track, Simbday and Ships. It was self penned and self produced by the two co-founders and mostly played by them but has guest appearances by Danny Griffiths from the band Archive who also co-wrote on two songs: Ships and Simbday. Another ex-The Lucy Show member, Pete Barraclough plays on the track Ships and a third musician Ex-Geno Washington Ram Jam band guitarist Andy Williams appears on two Tracks: Davey and All The Flowers. The album was mixed by The White Space with additional help from Grammy award winning engineer and Geoff Emerick protege Pete Henderson who has worked with the likes of Paul McCartney, Supertramp. The album was mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering in Taunton, England. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
