It began simply as a 'just-for-fun' recording project between singer/songwriter Jason Harwell and former Heros Severum drummer Davey Staton. Fueled by their mutual admiration for bands that played fun, catchy pop songs with fuzzy guitars and analog synthesizers, the two set out to use this combination as a template to create their own hybrid of fuzzy pop songs. With each one bringing songs to the table, as well as writing more together, the musical direction of the project began to take shape and soon they had a cohesive batch of songs. Once these songs were written, they were anxious to hear what they would sound like with a full band and decided to record them. With the drum tracks recorded at a friend's studio in Atlanta, Jason and Davey continued recording the rest of the guitar, bass, and synth parts themselves. As the songs transformed into full band versions, they realized that it would be fun to put a band together and play these songs live. And that's exactly what they decided to do. They enlisted the help of Davey's brother, Jonathan, to play bass, while Jason's cousin, Laura, was asked to join the band to play synth. They then added Mattox Shuler on guitar, and the Warm Fuzzies lineup was complete. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
