(the) Umbrella Cult faded into existence in 2011 and began gigging regularly and recording themselves constantly. Their gritty production style and high energy concerts quickly garnered them a strong and loyal fan base. Being lovers of all forms of music, and with a predilection for the raw and reverb-y production of the 60’s and 70’s, they began mixing elements together and trying on hats. Their goal was to balance modern and vintage aesthetics and to entwine it all with cult leader, Brockford Lee’s creative vocal melodies and crafted arrangements. In 2012 they began work on an entirely self produced album in Lee’s foreclosed childhood home. Recording nearly 30 songs for the effort, they eventually narrowed it down to 14 tracks and their debut LP, Apocalove, was birthed. They are lead by the following five entities: Brockford Lee (guitar/vocals/misc.), Garrett von Räd (lead guitar), Promise Hope (vocals/percussion), David Cornicelli (bass) and Alex Frazzoni (drums).
