The Subterraneans could mean a number of bands. 1. A high energy jazz fusion outfit from Australia showcasing the talents of Saxophonist James Ryan, Bass player Steve Hunter, Drummer James Hauptmann and arguably one of the finest guitarists on the planet James Muller. 2. A lo-fi rock trio from Denmark, that played together from 1997 to 2001. During this period, their live shows were seen from time to time in the suburbs of Copenhagen. Their biggest underground hit was "Down to the River". 3. A short-lived deathrock / gothic rock band formed in Los Angeles in the late 80's.
