Originally members of seminal (!) 80's jangly guitar pop combo Calling Autumn, Kevin Harris (vocals) and Jeremy Hanson (everything else) recorded a number of bedroom demos under the Rosepainters monicker before 'settling down' for the next 20 years to do grown up things. Encouraged to start recording again after enduring the 'landfill indie' that has defined this decade, the boys changed their names by deed-poll to Frank Harris and Frank Hanson and The Popular Franks were born. They are now reapplying their skills to the digital age and hope to release more stuff once they figure out the 21st century equivalent of Play/Record.
