Theres are two bands with the same name: 1) The Parade were Murray MacLeod (also a member of The Roger Nichols Trio/Small Circle of Friends), Jerry Riopelle (Phil Spector protégé and former Philles staff producer), and Smokey Roberds (songwriter and actor). Originally signed to A&M Records, The Parade not only created a definitively West Coast pop sound but also unknowingly helped establish the sunshine pop genre via their 1967 Billboard Top 20 hit, Sunshine Girl. 2) We are best friends that love making music together. We are 20-24 years old. We all live in Santa Clara, CA. Oh, and we're afraid of zombies. "Local boys The Parade do their damnedest to sing their way into your heart. A combination of emotional lyrics mixed with dance/pop prove angst can be redirected into positive sounds, although half the songs seem to be about lost love. What is it about guys in bands and their inability to find a good woman who will stand by them? The girls in a musician’s world always seem to either cheat or leave for another guy. The Parade does stand out in the sea of sameness by showcasing a lead singer who can actually sing. No screamo yells or hardcore break downs. Just feel-good music for a feel-good crowd."
