about

The Olympia Three (2007-2010) was a folk-rock band with a hint of bluegrass hailing from Louisville, Kentucky. Louisville Music News says "Louisville’s the Olympia Three sound as if they came down out of the hills of Kentucky with a traditional bluegrass upbringing and quickly grew into a modern folk rock adulthood out in the modern city streets. While the ever-present, frantic mandolin quickly identifies the music as folk rock, the subtleties within the songs make the sound much more interesting." Louisville Eccentric Observer says the band is a "juxtaposition of the traditional and the contemporary". The three piece released their first selftitled CD in 2007, a 6 song split CD with The Parade Schedule in 2009, and finally a 6 song CD in 2010, all on Dunkenstein Records. The Olympia Three is: Phillip Olympia - Guitar, Vocals Anthony Olympia - Mandolin Jake Hellman - Bass The Olympia Three Myspace: www.myspace.com/olympiamusic User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
