Joe "The Joe" Gurba raps for OLD UGLY Recording Co. BANDCAMP | RECORD LABEL The Joe has toured Canada coast to coast, released several records (including one under the heteronym "Help"), shared the stage with numerous acts (large and small, pre-fame and post-fame), won some minor awards, and collaborated with a number of artists. He is a prominent member of the Artistic community in Edmonton, putting together shows and festivals with unique themes and eclectic content since 2007. Gurba started OLD UGLY Recording Co. in 2009. He is the editor of ArgueJob.com, a blog with several contributors that reviews new, independent, Canadian records. The blog corresponds to his radio show, "The Ongoing Argument," Mondays, 11am-1pm, on CJSR 88.5 FM. He has also published works of poetry and short fiction in numerous journals, magazines, and chapbooks. He is now a Sociology student at the University of Alberta. ------- His meta-biographic narrative from the original OLD UGLY website reads: The Joe was not anything for a long time.
