O.K. World time to meet The Jakals. For the first time in a long time this writer is excited about a New English Band! The boys come from Sussex and this is the bands first effort and it does not disappoint. Scorching/Hooky guitars from Lucas Cook, this kid has made my top ten list already and he can't be more than 20 or 25. I would add this one to my classics bin if I didn't know that this was a new release. Vocalist Chay Brewer is a throw-back to the likes of Steve Marriot and Rod Stewart, his songwriting would make you think that he has been laying it down with all the Greats! A stripped down/ balls out no nonsense approach. It is not as if this hasn't been done before, but not this well for a very long time. Fans of bands like Free, The Faces, Humble Pie, and The Yardbirds should be shouting praise for this quartet from the highest mountain. Every song on the New record "UNITED" had my toes tapping and my ears ringing. Top shelf guitars, howling Vocals and a backbeat like no-bodies business this band should be around for a very long time. I give it 5 out of 5 stars!!!!!
