The Jackson 5, later known as the Jacksons, are an American pop band formed by members of the Jackson family. The group originated in Gary, Indiana, in 1964, and initially consisted of brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael Jackson. They were managed by their father Joe Jackson. The group was among the first African American performers to gain a following across multiple musical genres. The Jackson 5 began performing in talent shows and clubs on the Chitlin' Circuit and signed with Steeltown Records in 1967, releasing their first two singles. In 1968, they left Steeltown and joined Motown Records. At Motown, they became the first group to debut with four consecutive number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart: "I Want You Back" (1969), "ABC" (1970), "The Love You Save" (1970), and "I'll Be There" (1970). During five years at Motown, they achieved seventeen Top 40 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including six number-one hits on the Billboard R&B chart. In early 1976, the group left Motown for Epic Records, with Jermaine remaining at Motown and youngest brother Randy joining the group. They adopted the name the Jacksons and released four studio albums and one live album between 1976 and 1981, including "Destiny" (1978) and "Triumph" (1980), with singles such as "Enjoy Yourself" (1976), "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)" (1978), "This Place Hotel" (1980), and "Can You Feel It" (1981).
