Destiny is The Jacksons' third studio album on Epic Records. This album is much more independent and mature than their previous material on Motown. While on Motown The Jacksons (then called the Jackson 5) never wrote their own material, in Stark contrast to Destiny where nearly every song (excluding blame it on the boogie) was penned by The Jacksons. Released in 1978, it came out just one year before Michael Jackson's huge Off The Wall album and subsequent rise to super stardom.
