The Defekts decided to become a band because of the lack of Lawrence Welk records in the fall of 1980. All of them were Juniors in their local high schools. They picked up their instruments when they started and then dropped them. Influences include a trumpet, a compass, a candy bar, and a type of snake. Their favorite foods are Di-Gel and pop tarts. Band Members: Danousaur - Vocals, Synth, Richter - Guitar, Grunts, Bendover - Bass, Grunts. Drummers: in order of appearance - Gregorian, KevinceMe, DannyBoy, returning to Gregorian The song "Peer Pressure" appeared on the Red Snerts compilation.
