The Consolation Project created a moody monster of a EP that echoes the gothic overtones of past groups like The Cult, The Cure and Love and Rockets. The electronic influence is mindful of the more recent Faint. Vocalist Ron Cavagnaro is a very passionate singer and the lyrics can really dig into your emotions. The first track, “Nothing”, is a good place to start as it shows off all the strengths of this group. I wouldn’t recommend it for a date (unless your date is Vampira) but The Consolation Project plays excellent rock music for serious listening.
