The Colt .45s clattered onto the Durham, UK music scene to mixed reviews in the summer of 2006. 18 months later and we've played over 60 gigs across the UK from London to Glasgow including Edinburgh Fringe Festival, had radio play in the UK, Germany, Spain and the USA, supported Neils Children, played several charity gigs including Oxjam, released a 7" split single and an album on DIY label Filthy Little Angels / Leaving Home Records, who've also released The Long Blondes & The Violets, and been remixed by Mr Rezistor. Our track Stockholm Syndrome was no. 4 in The Devils Top 10 Tracks of 2007 and our LP was Album of the Month in January's Crack Magazine. We've also had press in France and done interviews for The Talk Magazine and Scenesters.co.uk and during the summer of 2007 we did an 11 date tour of the UK. Members of the band run club nights & DJ at Durham venue Fish Tank. In 2008 we hope to keep gigging all over the UK, maybe even in Europe, and get more coverage of the LP. Already recording new material, we're planning a 2nd 7" vinyl release in March. In September we’re moving to Leeds but the fun doesn’t stop! Keep your eyes and ears pealed! Tracks from the album, as well as new stuff, be heard on our offical website, www.myspace.com/thecolt45smusic. Keep checking for updated blogs and gig listings. "Obscure, fiestly electro-punk... Like a couple of kids who've unwrapped a Smiths album and a Casio keyboard on Christmas morning, indulged in too much of their selection
