The Clicking Stick were a band based in Birmingham, England. Formed in 1991, the line-up featured a number of former members of The Noseflutes. The present status of the band is unclear. Their 2000 album, 'Mocrophone', received critical acclaim. Their sound has been compared by some to Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band. Others have described 'Mocrophone' as sounding like 'a pyramidal nest of hornets rolling down a hill into a burning building' . They were/are: Martin Longley (lyrics, vocals, exotic instruments), Chris Horton (bass, keyboards, guitar, electronics, percussion, production), and Paul McKenna (drums, percussion, acoustic guitar, bass, piano, banjo, piano, head-in-clay-urn chanting, cakes). They were ocassionally joined by: Robert McKenna (guitar, mandolin, piano), Mark Rowson (drums, guitar), and Ron (percussion).
