The Cherry Boys hit the Liverpool scene in November 1980 after the release of their first single 'Man to man.' In 1982 they came top of the poll in the Liverpool best bands award also releasing their follow up single 'Only fools die' as well as a six track cassette entitled 'Give it rice.' They released two more singles in 1983 on chappel music. Which included the cult classic 'Kardomah Cafe' (June 83) and also the follow up 'Shoot the big shot' (Nov 83) which failed to perform well in the charts. They where always regarded as a live band but never really took off in the recording work - and although never quite hitting the big time they havent been forgoten by liverpool and are still on display in the 'Liverpool life musium.' The band split in the summer of 1984. After the band Jim (keyboards) and Howie (drums) went to form Exhibit B, and Jim's current band is James Clarke Five.
