It’s always difficult describing any aspect of TeamNate. Defining an artist usually puts limitations and sets expectations that are easily shattered. Simply put; TeamNate is Brandon Scott, Alan Plotts, and Nathan Sorg expressing ideas in their heads carefully calculated and executed with a great enthusiasm you only find every so often. Brandon and Alan wrote and recorded and demo in 2009 in Bowling Green, OH, where the two attended BGSU together. Opening for acts such as Crystal Castles, MayDay Parade, A Place to Bury Strangers, and The Secret Handshake, they were making a name for themselves in their first two years of conception. But just like all great theories, they can be made better with revisions. Enter Nathan Sorg. Brandon and Alan recorded their Contact List EP with engineer David Picciuto in the summer of 2010. During the recording process, TeamNate discovered Nathan performing with the now defunct Sinker as extra hands, vocals and light tech. His performance impressed Brandon so much that the two began to form a side project. It was not until later TeamNate discovered that they had actually opened for Nathan’s (as the front man) band Extra!Extra! the year before and were all too familiar with him. The side project, named STROBES, was soon put on hold due to the realization that Nathan could be the missing link they never knew they needed. He joined the TeamNate at the end of summer 2010 and the duo, now made trio, are even more of a force to be reckoned with.
