Dj GeKKo was born on 16 december 1983, in the Salvator Hospital in Hasselt, Belgium. He lived in Berbroek during most of his kindergarten education. By the time he went to primary school, he had moved to Grobbendonk, and he attended primary school in the neighbouring village, Pulle. He went to secondary school in Westmalle, where he followed Latin for 4 years and subsequently 2 more years of Sciences-Modern Languages. It was around this time that he was introduced to fruityloops, by Dj Twanni and dj Matti. His first works date from this period in time. Despite a (limited) background in classical music education, his songs lean strongly towards the "fast and cheap" side of the spectrum. After secondary school, he studied Computer Science at university in Diepenbeek and Leuven for several years. During this period the entire 'lamegabber' series of songs was conceived. Dj GeKKo also hosted shoutcast radios for some time. After 2006 no further songs were produced, but still his oevre is pretty vast (around 100 tracks), and enjoyable for all.
